One thing that sets us apart from a lot of actual play podcasting groups is the sheer number of different games we play and projects we undertake! With such a staggering array of things we’re involved in we’ve decided to provide an update on some of our recent and upcoming projects. We’ve put out a great deal of content including actual play podcast episodes, review videos, interviews and discussions. If you’re interested in what we’ve been up to and what’s coming soon then see below!
Some projects we recently worked on that we are very proud of were a playthrough of the quickstart for the Planet of the Apes roleplaying game by Magnetic Press Play, as well as an interview with the lead writer Andrew E.C. Gaska and a playthrough of the scenario A Mother’s Heart from the Lost Stories expansion for the Broken Tales roleplaying game by The World Anvil Publishing. Our playthrough of the Planet of the Apes quickstart was released in conjunction with the Kickstarter for the game and we had a great time playing it. The quickstart comes with a selection of pregen characters to choose from who are all apes, but the full game gives you the choice of playing apes, astronauts, tribal humans or mutants. We also greatly enjoyed our discussion with Andrew and gained a lot of insight into very cool aspects of the game. Our playthrough of the scenario A Mother’s Heart was commissioned by the publisher and released as part of the Kickstarter for the Lost Stories expansion of their game. We were really happy to be able to get a sneak peek at one of the scenarios from the expansion and very much enjoyed playing it! The scenario is based on the fairytale The Wolf and the Seven Young Goats and was a very cool story. All the content for Planet of the Apes can be found on our own YouTube channel as well as anywhere you can find podcasts, and the Lost Stories playthrough can be found on The World Anvil Publishing’s YouTube channel. The games we are currently releasing episodes for are Broken Tales and Vaesen. Broken Tales is a twisted fairytale themed game by The World Anvil Publishing where fairytales are broken and heroes and villains have swapped places. We have really enjoyed the setting and the characters and the game has really unique and beautiful art. Vaesen is a game by Free League Publishing and is based on Swedish folklore. The game features a wide variety of creatures known as Vaesen and offers great opportunities for stories featuring mystery and magic. We have recently finished recording our first season of Vaesen and it will continue releasing until it is all posted! You can find both of those on our YouTube channel or by searching Kritfayle wherever you get your podcasts. In terms of upcoming projects there are lots in the works that we’re really excited about! We’re currently recording a playthrough of The One Ring roleplaying game by Free League Publishing. We’ve also just started to record a Starfinder campaign and are planning to record an adventures of Blade Runner and Tales from the Loop as well. We already have a few Blade Runner episodes and quite a few of Tales from the Loop. released and will continue to release more as we can. We have an upcoming interview with the people behind the Battlelords of the 23rd Century roleplaying game as they have a Kickstarter in the works and we’re looking forward to being able to chat with them about that! We are also planning to record a few more book ad game reviews, and to continue our deep dive into the factions of Infinity by Corvus Belli. If you’re interested in anything we’re working on, have suggestions for something you’d like to see us do or would like to collaborate please reach out to us!
